XlsxWriter

XlsxWriter is still in its infancy as a module, but supports basic XLSX creation features.

This includes cell formatting, cell notation, multiple worksheets manipulation, formulas, dates, numbers and text writing.

All outputted spreadsheets are compatible with the XLSX file standard.
