GNOME Mahjongg

GNOME Mahjongg is an open source piece of software that provides users with a beautiful, fun and addictive Mahjongg game, specifically designed for the award winning and modern GNOME desktop environment.

A solitaire version of Mahjongg

The game has been designed from the ground up to be playable only by one player, offline, which means that it's a solitaire version of Mahjongg, the classic and popular Eastern tile game presumably played by Noah on the ark.

The object of the game is to select pairs of similar tiles, until the board is empty or no more moves are available, in as short a time period as possible. The origins of the Mahjongg game remain completely unknown to people.

The application presents itself to the user with a very beautiful and attractive design, following the GNOME HIG (Human Interface Guidelines) specification and integrating well with the GNOME desktop environment.

Easy to use and intuitive GUI with numerous settings

Its graphical user interface is written in the GTK+ GUI toolkit and comprises of the main gameplay area and a toolbar where users can view the name of the layout, moves left, as well as the time passed since the game started.

In addition, you can undo and redo your last moves, pause the game, as well as to receive a hint for your next move, simply by pressing the Hint button. In GNOME, one should use the App Menu of the application, via the GNOME Panel, to start a new game, restart the current game, view the score board, and access the game's preferences.
