Cap'n Magneto found this control box on Rigel IV, in the ruins of an ancient Plexon civilization. When he activates it in the dark of night, it produces an image that looks like a red plastic donut. Pressing the buttons produces a variety of yellow forms on the donut. The forms move, grow, merge, collide, shrink, and disappear. Is it a child's toy? A religious artifact? A scientific instrument? Cap'n Magneto doesn't know. In fact, Donut Life is a highly-interactive 3D version of John Conway's Game of Life played on a translucent torus. The Donut is a giant red plastic torus floating in mid-air in a dark cave. You can spin it and tumble it, move it closer and further away, even look at it from inside. The Life is an ever-changing collection of bright yellow cells on its surface. Using an odd control box, you can create them in a variety of forms. You can even draw them directly on the donut using the mouse.
