  • Worked around an issue introduced in Apple's Mac OS X 10.11.4 update when using the Highlights (Neighborhood Adaptive) and Shadows (Neighborhood Adaptive) adjustments. On Mac OS X 10.11.4 the brightness would jump greatly at a certain level when using either of these adjustments.
  • Fixed an issue with the Iridient Reveal and High Pass sharpening methods where zooming in to high magnification, typically 300% or more, could cause the sharpening to not be applied correctly and in some cases the preview would also be very dark.
  • Fixed a bug with several of the monochrome conversion methods which could result in the appearance of white speckles in very dark regions, particularly when using negative values for the Brightness Shadows or Brightness Midtones adjustments.

• Further improvements have been made to the new v3 noise reduction processing introduced in Iridient Developer 3. Both the Luminance and Color noise reduction adjustments in particular are now much more effective with some forms of noise, especially in deep shadows and when strongly increasing exposure. The maximum strength of noise reduction has also been increased to give smoother, lower noise output when set to higher levels while still retaining good detail and color fidelity. The noise reduction version is now v3.5.
• The baseline exposure levels for Pentax K-S1 and K-S2 PEF format images has been changed. The default exposure levels for PEF and DNG should now match much more closely for these models.
• When copyright metadata is present in the original image the XMP copyrighted flag is now also set.
• The original embedded ICC profile name for standard format images is now displayed in the Input Profile menu.

• Canon multiple exposure mode RAW files are now properly white balanced.

  • New option to specify custom aspect ratio contraints for cropping.
  • A new preview display option has been added to the Preferences dialog and View menus to allow use of nearest neighbor interpolation when viewing the image in the preview window at greater than 100% scale. Nearest neighbor will produce a slightly sharper preview appearance and some prefer it for its ability to emphasize artifacts that may be produced by some processing, such as sharpening. The smoother Lanczos based method used in prior versions will tend to better match the final upscaled output when using higher quality interpolation methods on export.

  • Now supports the full 64 megapixel output for high resolution mode ORF images from the Olympus E-M5 Mark II. Previously high resolution mode RAW images were automatically downsized images to match the 40 megapixel output used by the camera for its JPEG conversions.
  • Decreased the minimum scale size for preview display to 1% from the previous minimum of 5% which allows extremely large images to be viewed at smaller sizes and on smaller monitors more easily.
  • LittleCMS color management libraries updated to version 2.7.
• Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed some of the Extreme Highlight Recovery parameters for Fujifilm X-Trans 200% and 400% DR mode images. Extreme Highlight Recovery when set to levels above 25 should now work much better with images shot in one of the extended DR modes.
  • Fixed an issue with the "Custom Tone" monochrome conversion method which would result in strongly overexposed output.
  • Fixed an issue with the Threshold adjustment option in the Unsharp Mask sharpening method which resulted in very dark (mostly black) output if the Threshold was set above zero.

The new noise reduction along with previous 3.0 beta updates to RAW processing, clarity and sharpening completes a major overhaul the core image processing for version 3.0 and significantly improves Iridient Developer's already excellent image quality, especially for RAW format images.
