ubuntuBSD is an open source project, a derivative of the popular Ubuntu Linux operating system that replaces the regular Linux kernel with a BSD one from the well-known FreeBSD UNIX OS.
The distribution is suitable for both server and desktop use, features the lightweight Xfce desktop environment and all the popular open-source applications you'll need, such as the LibreOffice office suite and Mozilla Firefox web browser.
ubuntuBSD provides users a text-based installer, the powerful ZFS file system, and all the tools they need and know from the Debian and Ubuntu projects. Currently, ubuntuBSD is distributed as an installable-only ISO image for 64-bit hardware architectures.
