LinuxConsole is an open source Live CD/USB Linux distribution that boots fast, supports old and new graphics cards, including Nvidia, AMD and Intel, and can be easily installed next to an existing Windows operating system.

Distributed as a Live CD ISO image

LinuxConsole is an independent Linux kernel-based operating system that can be started from CD, USB stick, disk drive, or network card (PXE). While the stable version is distributed as a 32-bit Live CD ISO image, the current development version is available only for computers supporting the 64-bit hardware architecture.

Boot options

While the Live CD boot menu has been instructed to automatically start the live system in 20 seconds from the moment the user boots the ISO image from the BIOS of a computer, there are a bunch of interesting boot options available.

These include the ability to start the live environment from a USB device with persistent mode, enter a console environment, boot in rescue mode, boot in failsafe mode, perform a memory diagnostic test, as well as to apply two workaround and report bugs.

LXDE is the default desktop environment

LinuxConsole’s default graphical desktop environment is LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment), which uses a standard, traditional layout comprised of a single panel located on the bottom edge of the screen, from where users can interact with running programs, access the main menu and launch apps, as well as to access essential system functions. Support for the English, Spanish and French languages is implemented.

Includes a wide variety of games

It is an easy to install Linux distribution that features various games, including OpenTTD, TuxPaint, 2H4U, BZFlag, Cultivation, Extreme Tux Racer, Neverball, XMoto, Frozen Bubble, DangerDeep, Do'SSi Zo'la, fooBillard, FreeCraft, SuperTuxKart, and Teeworlds.

Default applications include the QupZilla web browser, VLC Media Player, Audacious audio player, Xfburn CD/DVD burning software, Leafpad text editor, GPicView image viewer, PCManFM file manager, and various other useful utilities.
