Respond.js is fast and lightweight, adding support for the min/max-width properties and CSS3 Media Queries.
This should especially be used when wanting a website to display correctly in IE6-8 browsers or in any other browser that doesn't support the aforementioned features.
The library's main goal is to make older browsers respond as current browsers when it comes to dealing with min-width and max-width media queries and various media types (screen, print, etc.).
In case an app or website's users have browsers that natively support these features, Respond.js won't be executed after page load.
Features:
- Lightweight file size (~1kb)
- Works on mobiles
- Framework agnostic
- CSS cascade order is preserved
What is new in this release:
- Fixing a potential parsing issue in IE8.
What is new in version 1.2.0:
- Includes extra crash protection in IE for those with background-image declared on body.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
Limitations:
- It may not work with @import'd CSS files.
- No cross-domain support, works with same-domain CSS files only.
- Does not support nested media queries.
