History.js

Can be used as a polyfill (shim, shiv) for older browsers with no HTML 5 support.

When used in browsers supporting HTML 5 this means that the developer can modify the URL directly, without needing to use hashes.

In HTML 4 browsers, it will revert back to using the old onhashchange functionality.

Supports jQuery, MooTools and Prototype.

History.js is an evolution of jQuery History.

Requirements:

• JavaScript enabled on client side

Limitations:

• Opera 11 fails to create history entries when under stressful loads (events fire perfectly, just the history events fail).
• Mercury iOS fails to apply URL changes (hashes and HTML5 History API states).
