Once Simple File Downloader installed, a new button will appear in the post/page editor, which will help authors easily insert any of the files from the site's Media Library inside their content.
This button, when pushed will show a modal window that lets the author select the file, and then automatically generates a proper shortcode which produces a simple link to the downloadable file version.
This link can easily be styled to look like anything the developer needs.
Simple File Downloader does not use any kind of download counters, file size limits, or intermediary download screens, and will provide a quick way of adding downloadable content to a site.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
What is new in this release:
- Fixed the bug where the selection of file location does not work for Add New post, page and post-type (add-edit).
- Make sure that everything works for all post types.
- Added JS validation when no file is selected.
