DeviceDetector is the same PHP library used with the widely popular Piwik script, a self-hosted Web tracking and analytics service.
The library works on top of a basic user-agent string parser, but enhanced to also be capable of detecting various features specific to mobile-based Web traffic, a growing medium for accessing the Web these days.
DeviceDetector is quite easy to deploy and should provide all the needed hooks to let developers create complex device and user filtering systems that redirects website visitors to the appropriate site versions, or triggers custom functions based on their device or other client-side settings.
The library is mostly a developer's tool, not a script that any layman can edit and deploy right away.
