Modernizr is a small JavaScript library that detects the availability of native implementations for next-generation Web technologies (HTML5 and CSS3), technique also known as feature detection.
In layman's terms Modernizr tells you what features are supported and allows developers to add custom code for various scenarios in which features are present or not on the client's side.
Detectizr extends Modernizr to support user-agent detection as well.
This enables a broad new scope for developers, allowing them to take into account or filter out scenarios where device details can be taken into account as well.
Detectizr is capable of detecting the following settings:
Device type
Device model
Device orientation
Device viewport size
Operating system type
Operating system version
Browser type
Browser version
Browser engine
Active browser plugins
