What is Mailborder? Mailborder is a clusterable email gateway solution built on open source technology. It allows for the configuration and maintenance of multiple email gateways through a single graphical user interface. How does it work? Mailborder works in a Master-Child relationship role. Each Mailborder configuration has one Mailborder Master server. This Master server functions as both an email gateway and a central configuration point. Child servers do not require individual configuration as they pull their settings from the Mailborder Master server. A typical email gateway cluster consists of one Master and Two Child servers, but many more Child servers can be implemented if required. A solution can also consist of a single Master server if desired. What's required to start? The Mailborder installation requires a base install of Red Hat or a clone, such as CentOS which is free. Currently versions 5.8 and 6.3 are supported. The servers can be either physical or virtual utilizing technologies such as VMware. See the Install Guide for detailed information. You will also need to get a license from the Mailborder website. Can I test drive Mailborder? Yes. There is a demo server available to introduce you to the architecture. You can also get a free 30 day license for as many servers as you require. To get started, create an account and visit the License area of the site. (Viewable after signing in.)
