What is new in this release:

  • Adobe recommends users of Adobe AIR 2.0.2.12610 and earlier versions update to Adobe AIR 2.0.3.

What is new in version 2.0.2:

  • The Adobe AIR 2 runtime enables developers to use HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash software, and ActionScript to build web applications that run as standalone client applications without the constraints of a browser. Adobe AIR and the Adobe Flash Platform unleash the creativity of designers and developers by providing a consistent and flexible development environment for the delivery of applications across devices and platforms. Support for additional platforms, including Android, is under development.

What is new in version 1.5.3.9130:

  • A critical vulnerability has been identified in Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.42.34 and earlier. This vulnerability (CVE-2010-0186) could subvert the domain sandbox and make unauthorized cross-domain requests.
  • Adobe recommends users of Adobe AIR version 1.5.3.1920 and earlier versions update to Adobe AIR 1.5.3.1930.

What is new in version 1.5.2:

  • Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in the current versions of Adobe Flash Player (v9.0.159.0 and v10.0.22.87) for Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. These vulnerabilities could cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.
  • We expect to provide an update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat v9.1.2 for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX by July 31, 2009. This bulletin will be updated to reflect their availability on that date. (The update for Adobe Flash Player v9 and v10 for Solaris is still pending.)
  • Adobe recommends users of Adobe Flash Player 9.x and 10.x and earlier versions update to Adobe Flash Player 9.0.246.0 and 10.0.32.18. Adobe recommends users of Adobe AIR version 1.5.1 and earlier versions update to Adobe AIR 1.5.2.

What is new in version 1.5.1:

  • Today we released Adobe AIR 1.5.1, a relatively minor update that includes a number of bug fixes. The new builds are available for Windows, Mac and Linux on the Adobe AIR download center.
  • Oliver Goldman, a member of the AIR engineering team, posted a blog entry titled "Using InvokeEvent.reason in AIR 1.5.1" that describes a new API that was also added. If you have built an AIR application that launches at startup, you may want to check out Oliver's overview of how this feature works.
  • You do not need to recompile your application to take advantage of the 1.5.1 improvements. However, if you want to take advantage of the new APIs introduced in this release you will need to update your application descriptor to 1.5.1 (see New APIs section of the release notes) and recompile your application.
  • If you have any feedback about the release, please feel free to leave a comment below.
