kyco Image Preloader is recommended for using on pages where a lot of images need to be loaded and displayed.
Using something like this script will avoid sudden content jerks that may arise from whenever a loading operation finishes and the actual image is embedded.
kyco Image Preloader is also useful because it can also show small hints to the user that the content is still being retrieved, hints like an animated percentage loader, a notification text, or just a growing horizontal bar atop the image zone.
Once the preloading operation has been carried out and finished, the pictures can be dumped on the page or showed using a simple fade-in animation.
Along with all the previous options, the plugin also comes with a cool set of nifty callback functions which developers can use to trigger additional functions with various preloading states and stages.
What is new in this release:
- Added dynamic trickle, i.e. gracefully slow down loader animation the closer it gets to the actual value.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
- jQuery
