jQuery Image Viewer

jQuery Image Viewer is a very useful plugin if you need to showcase large resolution images in very small places.

The plugin works by showing the high-res image as the background for that container, along with special controls that can be clicked and help the user zoom the image in and out.

Special controls for panning the image in a certain direction can optionally be shown as well, along with the ability to simply grab the image and drag it in a desired direction to view its off-screen sections.
