HTML 5 localStorage was created to allow Web applications and websites to save data locally inside the user's browser, instead of using an online database.
This feature was created to work with small files, since that was the point of creating a local alternative instead of using huge database servers just to store a few settings.
LargeLocalStorage is for cases when you still have smaller amounts of data to save locally that just can't be justified in storing online, but the data saved locally is "big" when it comes to disk size.
LargeLocalStorage merges current available localStorage technologies available in various browsers to enable the storage of larger files locally without corrupting the files or blocking the running application.
Currently only recent versions of Internet Explorer (10), Google Chrome, Safari (6+), Opera and Firefox are supported.
LargeLocalStorage (or just LLS) uses:
Filesystem API for Crome and Opera
IndexedDB for Firefox and IE
WebSQL for Safari
