RadioModels is a suite of quantitative mathematical models that provides valuable information to users involved in dosimetry, dose calculations and quality assurance in radiation therapy. It incorporates the most advanced modeling techniques, with high-performance algorithms to deliver the best in end-use modeling. The project is currently developed and maintained by Javier Villafruela, MD.
Radiogenic Cancer Risk: Estimate the excessive risk caused by the radiation of diagnostic medical imaging (including CT scans, nuclear scans, plain films, fluoroscopy), interventional procedures and radiation therapy.
Dose Fractionation: The Linear-Quadratic-Linear radiation dose response model is often used for calculating isoeffect doses for different fractionation/protraction schemes, including hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy.
Normal Tissue Complication Probability (NTCP): Combining the Lyman-Kutcher-Burman NTCP model with radiosensitivity parameters to characterize the volume dependent probability of inducing radiation injuries.
Mathematical Models: - Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation (BEIR VII Phase 2) Models. - Linear-Quadratic-Linear (LQL) Cell Survival Model with Corrections for Damage Repair and Repopulation Effects. - NTCP in Response to Therapeutic Irradiation (Lyman-Kutcher-Burman Model).
