Photo-and-Map-Show can be installed by download, unzipping, moving to a Web server, and then uploading some images in its root folder. That's it. No database tinkering, no complex steps to follow, no need for a nested directory structure.
There are optional parameters you can play around with if you wish, parameters controlling:
- the size of the thumbnails
- the number of thumbnails per row
- the folder where to look for photos
A default Photo-and-Map-Show skin is included, but this can easily be tweaked via basic CSS code.
Once installed and ready to go, Photo-and-Map-Show works by reading all the images it finds in the designated folder and displaying them as small thumbnails in a grid-like display.
Site visitors can easily click on each thumbnail and a new tab will be opened where he can view the photo at a larger resolution.
If EXIF information accompanies the photo, it will be pulled from the image's header and displayed next to the photo.
