The "jQuery image jigsaw" plugin can be used for both small and large scale photography and can be a helpful tool if you want to add a self-governing image animation effect on your page.
The plugin works by cutting down a photo into smaller portions for which developers can control the size.
Each of this image tiles is then moved at regular time intervals into a new position on the grid, giving the illusion of a self-animated puzzle.
At regular intervals the image also reconstructs itself into its original form, just to let users know what's its original content.
All animations are handled via CSS3 and the frequency at which these tile transitions are applied is editable in the plugin's source.
A jQuery image jigsaw demo is included with the download package.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
