Creating complex image effects doesn't require developers in installing Adobe's Photoshop or any other image manipulation utility anymore.
The HTML 5 canvas element has proven itself to be a pretty solid alternative to desktop-based software, allowing developers to apply dynamic image effects using a few simple lines of code.
The Close Pixelate library is one of the first JS libraries to pioneer this technique, allowing JS developers to manipulate and add special effects to an image using only client-side technologies.
Basically the image is stored in its normal, original form on the server, and its processed only locally, in the user's browser, every time it needs to display using a desired effect.
Lots of sample effects are included with the Close Pixelate package, but new ones can be created with ease just by messing around with the available settings.
Features:
- Manage distance between pixels
- Manage pixel shape
- Manage pixel size
- Manage pixel offset
- Manage pixel alpha
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
- HTML5 enabled browser
