Adaptive-Backgrounds was ported to vanilla JavaScript syntax from the famous jQuery plugin of the same name, Adaptive Backgrounds by Brian Gonzales.
As with the original, this library works practically the same, analyzing an image, extracting its dominant color, and then doing "something" with it.
The default action is to take the color and apply it to the image's container, creating a color bleed effect from the original photo to its surroundings.
This produces a pleasant visual experience compared to dumping a photo on a white or black background, and is highly recommended for picture-heavy websites, photo albums, and image sliders.
Adaptive-Backgrounds comes with a few basic examples to show developers how it can be implemented.
Requirements:
- JavaScript enabled on client side
