This package provides the necessary installation files of Extron CTR8 Control Modules Firmware version 1.01.
New features:
- Added Feature – Added an additional Operating Mode – In version 1.01 another Operating Mode was added giving the unit more advanced functionality. The feature will allow the unit to be used in specialized applications where additional monitoring of the ports, as well as independent control of the tally outputs is required.
Installation steps:
1. Connect your computer serial port to the Remote port.
2. Open Firmware Loader and establish a connection between the computer and the device. The Add Device... dialog box opens.
3. From the Device Name drop‑down list, select CTR 8.
4. From the Connection Method drop‑down list, select RS-232.
5. RS-232: Select the appropriate options from the Com Port and Baud Rate menus.
6. Click Connect. If the connection is successful, CTR 8 is displayed in green in the Connected Device panel, followed by a green check mark.
7. Click Browse in the New Firmware File (Optional) panel.
8. In the Open dialog, navigate to the new firmware file, which has an S19 extension, and select the desired file.
9. Click Open . The Browse dialog box closes.
10. Click Add . The Add Device... dialog box closes and the device and firmware are listed in the Firmware Loader main window.
11. Click Begin to start the upload process.
12. Close Firmware Loader when the Remaining Time field shows 00.00.00 , the Progress column shows 100% , and the Status field shows completed.
ATTENTION:
• Valid firmware files must have the file extension .S19. A file with any other
extension is not a firmware upgrade for this device and could cause the device to stop functioning.
About Control Modules Firmware:
Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
