PayPal Button Generator is a powerful button maker that creates a Buy Now button and a custom thank-you page that contains a unique download link to your digital goods. After you've created the code for a Paypal Buy Now button or a Shopping Cart is very important to properly manage your digital goods through Instant Payment Notification (IPN). The IPN module of the program can sends customized emails to notify you and the buyer about the transaction that took place with your digital goods. Events during the transaction are recorded chronologically in a text file for further investigation. There is no need for a database. And by the way if you already use an IPN script you can still use it. All variables relating to transactions received from PayPal will also be sent for further processing to your old script as a POST request.
What is new in this release:
- PayPal Button Generator 2.0 now also works on localhost (127.0.0.1) as a standard Windows application (shortcut on the Desktop, shortcut in the Start Menu folder). For testing purposes is no longer required a public IP address to send mail notification to the buyer and seller. However, the production environment requires of course a domain name, subdomain or a public IP address.
- Install and Uninstall Support added for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit. User intervention is minimal when installing and uninstalling the program.
- IPN (Instant Payment Notification) script is now optional if another one is used because the PDT (Payment Data Transfer) script can send emails notification to the buyer and the seller. However, it is recommended to be present in case it is not in use another IPN script. It does a good job.
- The program has been rewritten to use almost only PHP core functions. It has been tested and works well even on web servers that offer free PHP hosting (many functions disabled).
Requirements:
Port 80 must be open when you start the program on Windows. No other requirement is needed for Windows. Unzip and run the installation program. The installation wizard will guide you through the install process. For other operating systems, you need a web server with PHP > 4.0 installed, and a web browser with Javascript enabled. It was tested and works with Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera.
