HPC Toolkit

HPCToolkit is an open source software that provides a collection of multi-platform tools for analysing the performance of applications through profiles.

HPCToolkit has been successfully tested on the following platforms: Linux-x86, Linux-x86_64, Linux-Power, Cray XT/XE/XK, Blue Gene/P, IBM Blue Gene/Q.

What is new in this release:

• This version adds support for AMD vector extensions.
• In hpcrun, there is an API for the application to start and stop sampling, an I/O sample source to count the number of bytes read and written, and a Global Arrays sample source.
• A problem with GNU binutils on 64-bit PowerPC that caused performance data to be misattributed because function "D" symbols were overlooked has been fixed.
• In hpctraceviewer, support has been added for filtering out threads and processes that are not of interest.
• There are other enhancements and bugfixes.

• Assorted bugfixes and enhancements.

• Major enhancements were made.
• The codebase was split into a main body, externals, and a viewer.
