pgAdmin III is an open source, cross-platform, freely distributed and very powerful software project specifically designed for viewing, browsing, querying and developing complex PostgreSQL databases. It supports the PostgreSQL 7.3 and later database server, as well as the Postgres Plus Advanced Server and Greenplum database engines.

Supported PostgreSQL server-side encodings

pgAdmin III supports most of the PostgreSQL server-side encodings, including SQL_ASCII, EUC, JOHAB, LATIN, ISO_8859_5, ISO_8859_6, ISO_8859_7, ISO_8859_8, UNICODE UTF-8, MULE_INTERNAL, KOI8, WIN, ALT, WIN1256, TCVN and WIN874.

Gives you instant access to all PostgreSQL objects

The application has been deigned in such a way that it gives you instant access to all PostgreSQL objects, including aggregates, domains, constraints, casts, functions, operator classes and families, columns, rules, PostgreSQL servers, tablespaces, views, roles, Slony-I objects like clusters and nodes, as well as pgAgent objects like schedules and jobs.

Additionally, it give you access to conversions, databases, FTS configurations, parsers, templates and dictionaries, Greenplum objects like resource queues and external tables, groups, indexes, users, languages, types, tables, operators, schemas, trigger functions, sequences, server-side languages like Python, Perl and pgSQL, and Postgres Plus Advanced Server objects, such as synonyms, packages and procedures.

Under the hood and supported OSes

It is a software developed by a community of database experts around the world, it’s translated into more than 30 languages and supports all mainstream operating systems, including all GNU/Linux distribution, several BSD flavors, and the commercial Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows OSes. The application has been successfully tested with both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.

  • Resolving the inconsistency of preservation of modified information of the columns, while adding/editing a table from the table dialog
