Nitrux OS Icons

Nitrux OS Icons is a freely distributed, simple, clean, beautifully designed and minimal icon theme that contains a set of over 6,000 hand crafted vector icons, which are infinitely scalable and supported on both GTK+ based and KDE desktop environments.

There are actually two set of icons provided in this package, one for desktop environments that use the GTK+ toolkit, such as GNOME, Xfce, MATE, LXDE or Cinnamon, an another one for the KDE desktop environment.

What’s included?

If you’re wondering what icons are included in this packages, we can tell you that among the 6.000 SVG icons you will find icons for almost all of the open source graphical applications that are currently installed on your GNU/Linux systems. Numerous MIME types and devices are also covered in the package.

Getting started with Nitrux OS Icons

To install the Nitrux OS Icons set in Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or any other *buntu derivatives, open the Terminal app and run the ‘sudo add-apt-repository ppa:upubuntu-com/nitrux’ command to add the PPA repository that includes the icon sets.

Then, execute the ‘sudo apt-get update’ command to update all the packages in the software repositories, followed by the ‘sudo apt-get install nitruxos’ command to install the Nitrux OS Icons package.

Arch Linux users can easily install the Nitrux OS Icons pack using the ‘yaourt -S nitrux-icon-theme’ or ‘yaourt -S nitrux-icon-theme-kde’ commands. For detailed installation instructions on other Linux operating systems, please see the following tutorial
