VirtualKD allows speeding up (up to 45x) Windows kernel module debugging using VMWare and VirtualBox virtual machines. Normally, debugging over a virtual COM port involves the following schemes. Windows uses a virtual COM port to exchange data with host and WinDBG/KD uses a named pipe provided by VM to communicate with debugging OS.
