Created to replace the YUI Build Tool, Shifter is a powerful build and scaffolding toolkit developed on top of Gears.js.
Shifter works just like the aforementioned tools, building HTML, JS and CSS projects found inside a designated folder.
It works by reading the configuration file, opening and parsing all the files, concatenating what needs to be concatenated, verifying and testing the code, and them minifying it for production usage.
This operation can be ran by hand in the console every time the developers needs an updated build, or he can activate Shifter's watch & auto-build feature to incorporate all project changes into a new build every time a file changes.
Creating build configurations is quite easy, and support for dependency management and versioning is included with Shifter to allow easier project management.
