Win Bus is an experimental work-in-progress private chat network What does that mean? Well, you can sign up for an account on the forums then log in with your WinBus forum account in the Win Bus Messenger and join a live chat with various other Winbus users including Lee and myself Win Bus can be used for general chatting, technical support or just to talk with new people. Here's some the current features Win Bus has. Share formatting support between Yahoo Chat and Win Bus, so no need to re-customize your font settings. Voice chat support. Uses a special voice server that allows Win Bus users to use voice chat to chat with other Win Bus users. Create your own rooms. You can create your own rooms with Win Bus. Other standard features like Yahoo's emoticon support, username fade support, iTunes and Winamp support, ignore list. Here's some of the planned features for Win Bus. Private chats that'll allow you and another user or users to join a chat without worrying about anyone else joining. Private messages from and to other Win Bus users. Buddy list that'll allow you to befriend Win Bus users and see their online and offline status.
What is new in this release:
- Added: Textual shadows, this can be configured by using the new icon to the right of the Underline button in your chat or private message window
- Added: Username shadows, this can be configured in your usual spot where you would set up username background, etc
- Added: Clear History button on right clicking the lower left status bar in the chat window to empty out your history window and to reset the label back to Welcome to Chat
- Added: Christmas Decorations! You can disable these by going to the top of your chat window, and clicking 'Grinch Mode', and do the same again to enable them. Note: Any custom chat background you previously were using will be overridden by these decorations, enable Grinch Mode to return back to your previous state
- Fixed: Chat screen pause with newer CEF rendering library
- Fixed: Contact Request - if you clicked just the X on the window, it could lead to undesirable results, this should now be the same as clicking the Deny button manually
- Improved: Weird dates potentially show in the Offline Private Messages window, these should be resolved, but this is only an attempted fix as we are unable to recreate at this time and are still investigating, the work around temporary solution will be to eradicate weird dates (1899 for example) and replace them with modern dates in the case of being unable to detect correct date and time
- Fixed: If you used the contact search field then right clicked and remove the user, it would show you a weird icon in the list til you manually cleared the search field, this is now resolved
- Improved: Singular Display Picture viewer would previously show you an error message that was not clear about what had occurred. Now this will be clearer, and explain if the user simply has not set a picture yet
- Improved: When you create a room previously the validation rule in the program was not matching the server side validation rule, which meant you could try to create a room and it would simply do nothing, now it should show an adequate error message as required
- Fixed: Newer CEF rendering engine would randomly have issues with your custom background when you tried to use them, this should be resolved
- Attempted Fix: iTunes access violation, unfortunately we were unable to recreate this as yet so will continue to investigate if our attempt at fixing it has succeeded
- Fixed: Find window was not in read-only mode and was editable, leading to potential confusion
- Attempted Fix: At random, people would experience a blank chat window or private message window with the newer CEF rendering engine, a fix has been attempted, but we were not able to recreate this issue on our end therefore, would seek to continue to investigate whether or not this fix succeeded and indeed if there is perhaps a better way to do this
