Kawaii Emoji Messenger is an open source, free and multi-platform graphical application implemented in C++ around the Qt GUI toolkit and designed from the offset to bring a Facebook client to your GNU/Linux and Windows desktop.
Being based on an idea of bringing emoji on the desktop computer, Kawaii Emoji Messenger features an entire collection of emoticons that promises to enhance your Facebook comments and chat conversations. The application uses the mobile version of Facebook.
Getting started with Kawaii Emoji Messenger
For Linux OSes, the application is available for download only as a compressed archive, which contains the program’s sources. To install it, you must download the archive on your computer, unpack it and open a terminal emulator.In the Terminal app, you must use the ‘cd’ command to navigate to the location of the extracted archive files (e.g. cd /home/softoware/kawaii-emoji-messenger-0.3.0-beta), run the ‘cmake .’ command to configure the project, and then execute the ‘make’ command to compile it.
Lastly, after a successful compilation, you can install Kawaii Emoji Messenger system wide and make it available to all users on your Linux system by running the ‘make install’ command as root or the ‘sudo make install’ command as a privileged user.
Start the application from the main menu of your desktop environment and follow the on-screen instructions to login into your Facebook account and start chatting.
