EZ Intranet Messenger is a messenger client for internal communication. It does not need a server to authenticate against to sign in.

As long as you can get an IP address from the DHCP server (i.e. the network supports multicast), it will be able to find all other users within the same network segment and communicate with them.

It is very handy to use on local area networks as it allows admins to provide a simple messenger service to the members without the need to add more servers, making life a lot easier.

EZIM works on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and other operating systems which has Java Runtime Environment Version 1.6.x or above installed.

EZIM features private instant messaging service, online status notification, file transmission, and real time public chat.

What is new in this release:

  • Here is an improvement release which tackles some sound source manipulation problems. We have also updated the user manual to bring it in sync with our program.

What is new in version 1.2.24:

  • Bugfix:
  • disabled shutdown hook which halts on program exit on Win7.

What is new in version 1.2.17:

  • Hi there! It is time for another improvement release and here we go. Nothing has been added since our last release. Instead, some annoying *features* have been removed for good. If you were interesed, please refer to the release notes for the details.

What is new in version 1.2.11:

  • A minor improvement release is made today which features the new Dutch language support. (Thanks to Mr Martin Geysen for the translations!)

What is new in version 1.2.9:

  • Another bugfix release is out! This version tries to address and fix a subtle deadlock issue which may not affect every user. So far, the problem is not noticeable on Windows platforms.
  • Along with the deadlock fix, a modification is also made so that ACK messages are sent in a synchronized fashion. This is in place to avoid any potential ACK message mess up. Without this, we all depend on the underlying OS and Java implementation to prevent it from happening.
  • Not everyone may realize the advantages of upgrading, but hey! It doesn't hurt! ;)

What is new in version 1.2.8:

  • This is an improvement release. Many thanks to Mr Theisen for his valuable idea. Now we know exactly when messages arrive.

What is new in version 1.2.5:

  • fixed local address initialization.
  • fixed image display in user manual.

What is new in version 1.2.4:

  • A potential bug which may lead to data inconsistency has been fixed in this improvement release. Please consider upgrading although the bug may not cause noticeable problem under casual usage.
  • Also, bug report and user feedback are highly appreciated as usual. Enjoy!

What is new in version 1.2.3:

  • This is the first release in 2010. It is another improvement release where French translations were added together with some minor user interface changes.
  • I know it may be a little too late, but I wish you all a brilliant, meaningful, and enjoyable year in 2010.

What is new in version 1.2.1:

  • This release is aimed at pushing the use of IPv6 as the default internet protocol. While all other aspects remain unchanged, the underlying communication mechanism is readying itself to work with future network environments.
  • If you are a network administrator, or an enthusiast who like to try out all kinds of new technologies available, please take this opportunity to venture a new page in the history with us.
  • User feedback is critical at this current stage, please help us make it through! Download a copy and try it out now!

Requirements:
