nirc

nirc can be run from any Node.js server, may it run locally or somewhere online.

Installation instructions are provided with the package's README file and once setup, users can easily connect to any IRC channel they like and start having conversations with other online users.

nirc comes with a pretty minimal interface, comprised of a toolbar at the top for switching between channels and private conversations, a sidebar for selecting users, and the main section for viewing the conversation itself.

The nirc UI is also styleable via CSS-based themes, of which three are included with the standard package.

At the bottom of the page there's a textarea where users can write, and where classic IRC commands are also supported.

Since there are no other channel controls, the only way you'll be able to interact will be via these classic IRC console tricks.
