Stabie Rand Editor is an open source, rand-like and command-line text editor inspired by the original rand text editor.
Stabie Rand Editor is features some of the original functions of the rand text editor, such as the WP mode, but also some unique ones like multiple windows, alternate files in windows & rectangular get, and cut buffers.
What is new in this release:
- This latest version expands the search command to allow case insensitive searches and glob-like searches using the ^, $, *, and ? special characters.
- The search mode is easily toggled by using the ^Q key.
- The code has been verified to run on the Raspberry Pi's ARM architecture.
What is new in version 10:
- A bugfix when replacing a string, like abcd to abcde.
- A bugfix when searching for a word under the cursor when the window was shifted left.
- A new command "run" to run an external Unix program using the current line or marked lines as an input to the external program and then substitute the output of the external program for the current line or marked lines.
- Essentially, this allows an external program to act as a filter for a piece of the file.
- A complimentary command "unrun" was added to restore the input lines deleted by the run command.
