Blue Mind is a completely free and open source web-based software project that provides an all-in-one groupware solution for companies that want to enable their employees to work daily with useful, comprehensive, effective and efficient tools.

Features at a glance

Key features include a scalable shared messaging systems, support for Mozilla Thunderbird and Outlook connectivity, contacts and calendars with support for mobiles devices (Android, iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, etc.), a modern and scalable architecture, as well as webmail, calendar and contacts management functionality.

In detail, the platform offers support for multiple address books, thick e-mail clients supporting the POP3, IMAP and SMTP protocols, advanced backup functionality, shared, private and public address books, detailed contact information, shared or private distribution lists, hierarchical and archival storage, plug-in management and centralized server management.

Native integration with Active Directory and LDAP

Another interesting feature is that the application integrates seamlessly into an existing LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) server or with the Active Directory special-purpose database developed by Microsoft. In addition, it is very important to mention here that the application can be easily installed in a few minutes and with minimum effort, thanks to its high-end installation wizard and the 2-click single-server installation functionality.

A cross-platform and cross-browser application

Being powered by the latest Web 2.0 and JavaScript technologies, Blue Mind is a cross-browser and cross-platform application. It supports all known web browsers and operating systems, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Chromium, Internet Explorer, Opera, GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.

Does it work on my Linux box?

Officially supported distributions of Linux include Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx), Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin), Debian GNU/Linux 6 (Squeeze), Debian GNU/Linux 7 (Wheezy) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures are supported at this time.
