Chess 2012 is your classic chess game with a modern user interface, multiple difficulty levels and intuitive controls. Test your chess skills against the computer and see if you can beat it at the highest difficulty. The Free Edition offers 6 difficulty levels (beginner to expert), provides move history using the standard chess notation (it is possible to undo and redo moves), and displays position evaluations in the units of centipawns (1 pawn equals to 100 points, positive values indicate white's advantage, negative values point to the contrary). The application animates moves and highlights the last move so that the situation on the chessboard is always easy to recognize. Beginners will also make use of other highlighting options, such as the possible target squares for the selected piece. Complete help and game rules are provided. Chess 2012 follows a fair and simple model. You get a functional game at no cost and with no time limit. If you like it and want to get more, upgrade to the Pro Edition.
