Serendipity is a powerful blogging engine with support for themes, plugins, and a specialized administration panel.

You can easily get Serendipity installed thanks to its installation wizard, and then go to the blog's backend and start adding categories, files, and the blog posts themselves.

Everything runs smoothly, quite fast, and lets the user focus on the writing of the blog, while also presenting him with all the management options he might need at one point or another.

There are also options to manage the comments, activate pingbacks and trackbacks, import or export the blog's content, and automatically rebuild all the site's thumbnails.

Serendipity is a solid alternative to bloated solutions like WordPress or Joomla.

It only includes the parts necessary to manage a blog and leave the page management and customization abilities to actual CMSs.

So if you're looking for something that's created and focused on blogs alone, Serendipity's the tool for you.
