Bitnami Trac Stack

Bitnami Trac Stack is a cross-platform and free software project that greatly simplifies the deployment of the Trac bug/issue tracking application and its dependencies (MySQL, PHP and Apache) on any computer operating system. It can be deployed using native installers that are compatible with the mainstream hardware architectures.

What is Trac?

Trac is an open source, free, platform-independent and enhanced Wiki and issue tracking system designed for software development projects. It uses a minimalistic approach to web-based software project management and provides a modern, state-of-the-art bug tracking solution for websites.

Installing Bitnami Trac Stack

Bitnami offers native installers for the Bitnami Trac Stack project, created using the BitRock InstallBuilder software. The installers are multi-platform, supported on all Linux kernel-based operating systems, as well as on the Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows OSes.

To install them on your computer, simply download the installer package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instructions. Both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures are supported at this time.

Running Trac on the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, it is also possible to run Trac on the cloud, simply by using Bitnami’s pre-built cloud images that are compatible with any web hosting platform or the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers.

Virtualizing Trac

In addition to the native installers and the cloud images, Bitnami also offers virtual machine images for the Trac software, allowing users to virtualize it. The virtual images are based on the latest stable (LTS) release of the Ubuntu Linux operating system and designed to work with the VMware ESX, ESXi or Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software.

Is there a Bitnami Trac Module for my LAMP server?

Unfortunately, Bitnami does not provide a Trac module for the Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server at the moment.
