Bitnami OpenERP Stack is a freely distributed software stack that provides users with an one-click install solution, an appliance for the OpenERP CRM and ERP system, as well as all of its runtime dependencies. It can be deployed using a native installer on any Linux kernel-based operating system.
What is OpenERP?
OpenERP is an open source web-based application that has been designed from the offset to act as a ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software that helps you to connect business processes for finance, sales, project management and supply chain.
Installing Bitnami OpenERP Stack
The OpenERP stack is only available for download for GNU/Linux distributions. To install it, simply download the native installer that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit and 64-bit architectures are supported at this time), make it executable, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Run OpenERP on the cloud
Thanks to Bitnami, customers are now able to run their own OpenERP Stack server on the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for either of the Amazon EC2 or Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.
Use OpenERP on virtual machines
In addition to install OpenERP on your computer or run it on the cloud, you can also run it on virtual machines, thanks to Bitnami’s virtual appliance based on the latest LTS (Long Term Support) release of the Ubuntu Linux operating system and designed to work with Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software.
The Bitnami OpenERP Module
Sadly, Bitnami does not yet offer an OpenERP module for its Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack, which would allow users to easily deploy OpenERP without its runtime requirements. Instead, an OpenERP Docker container will be available for download on the project’s homepage, free of charge.
