Bitnami Mantis Stack

Bitnami Mantis Stack is a free and multi-platform software project that delivers native installers for simplifying the installation and hosting of the Mantis application and its runtime dependencies on GNU/Linux computers, as well as Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It includes ready-to-run versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL.

What is Matis?

Mantis is an open source, free, platform-independent, full-featured and web-based bug-tracking system that includes role-based access controls, built-in reporting, changelog support and many other attractive features.

Installing Bitnami Mantis Stack

To install Mantis on your personal computer, first download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), make it executable, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. It works the same on all supported OSes.

Run Mantis in the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, users are now able to run their own Mantis stack server in the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for Amazon

EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.

Virtualize Mantis or use the Docker container

In addition to deploying Mantis on the cloud or install it on your personal computer, you can also virtualize it using Bitnami’s virtual appliance for Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software, based on the latest version of the Ubuntu Linux operating system.

The Bitnami Mantis Module

Besides the Bitnami Mantis Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami offers a module for their Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack on GNU/Linux systems, Bitnami WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack on Microsoft Windows or Bitnami MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack on Mac OS X, allowing users to intall Mantis on their computer without having to deal with its runtime dependencies. Bitnami Mantis Module is available for download for free on Softoware.
