Bitnami Joomla! Module

Bitnami Joomla! Module is a free and multi-platform software project that can helps you to deploy the Joomla! CMS application on top of a Bitnami LAMP Stack installation on GNU/Linux computers. It also compatible with the Bitnami WAMP Stack and Bitnami MAMP Stack products that run on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems respectively.

What is Joomla!?

Joomla! is an open source and free software project that helps you to create complex corporate applications or simple websites in minutes, without having to know anything about web development/design. It also allows users to manage each aspect of their website through a simple, browser-based interface.

Installing Bitnami Joomla! Module

Bitnami Joomla! Module is distributed as native installers for GNU/Linux, Windows and Mac OS X systems, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms, built using BitRock's cross-platform installer tool. To install the Joomla! module on top of your LAMP Stack server, just download the package that corresponds to your computer’s architecture, make it executable, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

Virtualize Joomla! or run it in the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, users can run Joomla! in the cloud, simply by using Bitnami’s pre-built cloud images for Windows Azure or Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers, as well as to virtualize it using Bitnami’s virtual appliance based on the latest Ubuntu Linux distribution and designed to be compatible with VMware ESX, ESXi and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software.

The Bitnami Joomla! Stack and Docker container

Besides the Bitnami Joomla! Module product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a Docker container, as well as a Bitnami Joomla! Stack, which aims to greatly simplify the installation and hosting of the Joomla! CMS software on desktop computers or laptops. Bitnami Joomla!
