Bitnami eZ Publish Stack

Bitnami eZ Publish Stack is a free, easy-to-install, easy-to-use and multi-platform software project that allows you to effortlessly deploy the eZ Publish CMS software and all of its dependencies. The product includes pre-configured, ready-to-run versions of Apache, MySQL, and PHP web technologies.

What is eZ Publish?

eZ Publish is an open source, platform-independent and free web-based application designed from the ground up to act as an enterprise content management platform that features an easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) component.

Installing Bitnami eZ Publish Stack

The Bitnami eZ Publish Stack product is distributed as native installers built using the BitRock InstallBuilder tool and designed to work with the GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. To install eZ Publish on your personal computer, download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), run it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run eZ Publish in the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, you are now able to run eZ Publish Stack in the cloud with your hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.

Virtualize eZ Publish or use the Docker container

In addition to install eZ Publish on your desktop computer or laptop, or to run it in the cloud, you can also virtualize it on the Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software, thanks to Bitnami’s virtual appliance based on the latest stable release of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. A eZ Publish Docker container will also be available for download on the project’s page (see link below).

The Bitnami eZ Publish Module

Besides the Bitnami eZ Publish Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a module for its Bitnami LAMP, WAMP and MAMP stacks, allowing users to deploy the eZ Publish application on personal computer without having to deal with its runtime dependencies.
