From the creator of Minitube, we welcome you to Musique, a multi-platform, open source and completely free software project that allows users to playback their entire music collection from the comfort of their Linux, Windows or Mac desktops.

You can look artists in the face

The application has been designed in such a way that it allows users to look their artists in the face, by browsing their entire music collection by album covers and artists pictures, and it will find and display the lyrics of any track.

It uses a simple play queue

Another interesting feature of Musique is the ability to allow users to browse folders and files in order to view their music collection exactly the way they organized it. In addition, it uses a simple play queue.

Supports lyrics

The application will automatically find and display song lyrics in the Info View. In addition, you can easily switch to full-screen mode from the View menu, as well as to activate the shuffle and repeat modes with a click of a mouse button.

It’s cross-platform, written in Qt

Just like Minitube, Musique’s graphical user interface has been written entirely in the Qt GUI toolkit, which means that it’s a platform-independent application that supports a wide range of operating systems and desktop environments.

The application runs well on GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows

Being designed from the ground up as a cross-platform application, Musique runs well on GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It can use either the GStreamer or VLC multimedia backends.

Supports Ubuntu and other Linux OSes

Officially, Musique supports Ubuntu, as you can easily install the application with a click of a mouse button from the project’s website (see link above). You can also download the source code if you want to install it on other Linux OSes.
