Easily find your favorite artists and tracks

The program allows users to find their favorite audio tracks from Grooveshark using an intuitive and modern graphical user interface that proves to be extremely easy to use. You can search the entire Grooveshark database for artists, albums and songs.

As its name might suggest, GrooveOff is mainly used for saving songs to your local/external drive and listen to them offline using any dedicated audio player application, such as Clementine, Audacious, Rhythmbox, Banshee or Amarok.

With some smart and easy-to-use filters, you will be able to sort search results by albums or artists. Two layouts are available, wide and compact, as well as support for download album art, limit search results, set the target directory for saving tracks, and search history.

A minimal player is also available

The app also includes a minimal audio player, so you can preview songs prior to downloading them. If you want, you can listen to the entire track from the graphical user interface and them decide if you want to keep the song or not.

Officially supported on Arch Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, Debian

The application is officially supported on the Arch Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE and Debian GNU/Linux operating systems, which means that you can easily install it from their main software repositories using the built-in graphical package manager (e.g. Synaptic Package Manager or YaST or Yum Extender).

Under the hood, GrooveOff is writen entirely in the C++ programming language, which means that it is very fast, and uses the latest Qt GUI toolkit for its modern and attractive graphical user interface. It’s compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit computer platforms.
