Score Writer is the affordable notation software that makes recording, editing, arranging and printing your music easy, fast and enjoyable. Score Writer was designed for people new to notation and composition, and whose needs are relatively simple and straightforward. Its simplified interface makes creating music easy and fun to learn. For band and small orchestral arrangements, lead sheets, choral parts or even simple notation examples, there's no easier way to create professional notation than Score Writer.
What is new in this release:
- Rebar has completely been reworked and happens automatically when you change time signatures.
- Improved dot placement on dotted notes in tablature tracks.
- Improved chord alternate bass note recognition from MIDI keyboard by using bottom note as bass note when the bottom note is an octave or more below the other notes.
- The metronome click now uses the beaming pattern and not the pulse settings. This allows for more flexibility when using composite meters.
- Browser panel now remembers open/close state of folders during the session.
- Added command in Windows menu to switch to next and previous scores.
- Add the ability to import/export Key Commands.
- Added a few more missing chords in the Chord library.
- Made a small improvement to note spacing and slur positioning.
- When using the Increase/Decrease measures per system, the system is locked for that number of measures, by using breaks.
- To change the number of measures on the locked system, you can use the Increase/Decrease menu commands again or delete the break at the end of the system.
What is new in version 5.5.4:
- Added (b9) chord to library.
- Added ability to distinguish between add2 and add9 chords when using MIDI keyboard.
- Added Major Locrian, Phrygian and Spanish modes to Composer Tools dialog.
- Added three metronome volume settings in Options>Metronome menu.
- Added the ability in the Export Audio dialog to export selected tracks to individual files all at one time. (Use multiple outputs)
- Added ability to limit handwritten stems and lines when using Groove font. (In Preferences)
- Disabled notes are now displayed in a light grey.
- Narrowed the hit point for deleting a track with eraser tool and when clicking, a warning is displayed.

- Added ability to split notes on a piano system during step input.Improved real time transcription, including real time split point calculations.
- Added Flip Direction in symbol contextual menu.
- Added “Clear Solo and Mute on all tracks” to Tracks menu. (You can create your own short cut key)
- Printing now prints in reverse order, except when printing to PDF files.
- Improved reading old MAC version 2 files.
- Dragging guitar symbols are now constrained to the first direction moved, just like lyrics.

What is new in version 4.1.0p25:
- Fixed broken tie problems with real time recording. (Bug was introduced in patch 22).
- Fixed too many additional measures added when pasting from last measure in score.
- Improved spacing consistency around different bar line types.
- Added a little more space for cautionary accidentals.
- Improved double clicking on clefs, meters, and key signature space on first measure of a system.
- Limited dragging around items to only include lies if their end points are in the dragged area.
- Fixed problem where eraser did not work on all symbols. (Bug was introduced in patch 23).
- Fixed a few bugs when setting key signatures over a ranges that had existing key signatures.
