Band-in-a-Box is an automatic accompaniment program for Macintosh. You type in the chord symbols to any song, using standard chord symbols like C, Fm7, Cm7b5 etc. choose a style and press PLAY. Band-in-a-Box then generates a pro quality 5 instrument accompaniment of bass, drums, piano, guitar and strings in over 100 styles of music.
What is new in this release:
- Fixed: "Style is enabled" was always checked (in popup menu opened from main Style button), and style name on main window would not always display "disabled".
- Fixed: Automatic updates of RealTracks, RealDrums, etc. was not finding files for date checking on client's computer.
- Fixed: Audio Edit window buttons did not have hints.
- Fixed: Record Audio button was missing from additional items popup menu (when screen is small).
- Fixed: "Set Time Sig of Scrap" was in wrong menu.
- Fixed: hitting R key while entering line-based lyrics would open the Record MIDI dialog.
- Fixed: "Instrument: No Patch Change" was displaying on the Audio track in the mixer.
- Fixed: The Audio track's label in mixer was not changing to yellow when track was active.
- Fixed: Master radio control changed to reed when soloing a track, or muting Audio track.
- Fixed: Apple Loops were exporting at an incorrect duration, so the tempo would be wrong when reimporting back into Band-in-a-Box.
- Fixed: Acid loops would sometimes show a non-integer value for the number of beats (eg "8.001" instead of "8") in the Loops dialog.
- Fixed: Hot-key was wrong for: Play > Next Juke Song.
- Fixed: Tempo percent feature was not working if song was not using RealDrums or an audio track.
- Fixed: DROP > Audition this file... would only show one file when there were multiple files in the drop station. Now the user can choose a specific file in this situation.

- Fixed: Save as Video dialog would not show progress of video rendering, remaining in a frozen "not responding" state, and user could not close the dialog to do something else during rendering.

- Fixed: Opening the Audio Edit window for the first time would display the count-in and first 2 bars instead of count-in and first 4 bars.
- Fixed: Preferences > "Close window when not in BB" would not hide the entire Band-in-a-Box window when switching to another application (e alt-tab).
- Fixed: "Rendering has begun..." flash messages would show file extension twice (eg. "myrender.aiff.AIFF" or "myrender.m4a.M4A").
- Improved: Sound popup menu has new item "Open System Preferences | Sound | Input".
- Improved: Sound popup menu has new item "Open System Preferences | Sound | Output".
- Improved: Right-clicking on a part marker now has "Bar-Based Section Letters" sub-menu.
- Improved: "... rendered successfully to disk" flash message is now green, and will audition the file if clicked on.
- Improved: Right-clicking on any of the number displays in the mixer opens a quick popup that allows user to type in a specific number.
- Improved: Full/Upgrade/CoreMIDI manuals updated.
- Done: ACW manual added, and the [PDF Manual] button in ACW Utilities dialog will open this manual.
- Fixed: In RT and RD Settings dialogs, text truncation sometimes happened.
