Atlassian Bamboo is a Continuous Integration Server. More than a conventional continuous integration (CI) server, Bamboo provides Build Telemetry to help identify and highlight trends, patterns, and linkages across builds — not just focusing on the results of a single build.

Features:

  • Dynamic real-time telemetry to help you improve existing and future builds, tests and teams.
  • Continuous improvement in the health of your projects with advanced continuous integration features.
  • Instant feedback via a range of notification and personalisation options to suit the way you work. [Watch Flash Video (4:35)]
  • Collaboration features including labels and comments.
  • Seamless integration with other development tools.

What is new in this release:

  • This version adds new integration points for JIRA, Stash, and HipChat, as well as other features that help get your team together.

What is new in version 3.4:

  • This version introduces support for Git submodules.
  • Also, users now have the ability to share repository configurations, making it easier to admin and maintain plans.
  • Further improvements include support for Windows in Amazon EC2 (elastic agents) and new email notifications.

What is new in version 3.3:

  • This version introduces Multiple Repository support: monitor and checkout code from multiple repositories including Subversion, Git, Mercurial, CVS, and Perforce.
  • This allows you to build and include externally developed open source software as part of your project, or larger projects that consist of multiple modules located in different repositories.
  • It also adds automatic upgrades of remote agents: agents now start up faster, auto-update, and reload plugins.
  • Also included is Java 7 support, support for multiple user aliases, a commit centric view of your build activity, and much more.

What is new in version 3.2:

  • This version introduces improved integration between Bamboo and JIRA to automate the release management process (down to one click).
  • Manual Stages allow you to interrupt/halt/suspend automatic build execution at a specific Stage in the build plan. For Plan execution to continue, a user must manually trigger the Stage.
  • Also, you can now re-run failed Jobs without having to re-run the entire Plan once you've resolved the problems.

What is new in version 3.1:

  • This version introduces Tasks: execute any number of build commands and scripts in a single Job, giving your builds more flexibility.
  • Parameterized builds are now available to allow you to overwrite any Plan or Global variables.
  • There are new GitHub and Bitbucket connectors and improved .Net support.

What is new in version 3.0:

  • This version introduces Artficact Sharing: artifacts produced from a Job can now be shared with Jobs in subsequent Stages in the same Plan to help teams deploy continuously.

  • Release Management capabilities with JIRA and Bamboo have been added.

What is new in version 2.7:

  • This version enhances Plans: map a complete build process into consecutive steps, all within a single Plan.
  • The Concurrent Builds feature allows you to execute a single Plan concurrently on multiple agents.
  • Support for Mercurial (Hg).

What is new in version 2.6:

  • This release brings a host performance improvements to your continuous integration strategy. Bamboo 2.6 now provides support for up to 100 remote agents and along with several user interface enhancements, you can manage and build many more plans concurrently from a single Bamboo server.
  • The 'Current Activity' page incorporates several improvements that allow you to manage builds in real time more effectively. You can also comment on build results to record and let others know what might be happening with a build.
  • Imports and exports are now faster, more reliable and require less memory to perform. You can now also selectively choose to expire build logs to help save disk space.
  • If you use Elastic Bamboo, the Bamboo server can now automatically manage your elastic instances. This removes the need for you to manually start and shut down elastic instances, and can help keep your elastic instance usage costs to a minimum.
  • Bamboo also supports continuous integration for Grails projects and can also automatically incorporate Clover code coverage reports into their build results.

What is new in version 2.4:

  • The Bamboo Starter Edition now lets you set up to 10 build plans and an unlimited number of local agents on Bamboo for $10 a year.
  • JIRA 4 introduced support for OpenSocial gadgets.
  • Bamboo users can now view the latest build results, plan summaries, build activities, and even Clover code coverage in their JIRA dashboard or any OpenSocial gadget container.
  • It is now even easier to integrate Clover, the Java code coverage and test optimization tool.
  • You can now view Clover HTML reports in Bamboo build results.
