For instance you could assign volume control to the mouse's scroll wheel whenever the pointer is in your media player's window. This application turns your mouse into a versatile tool that saves time and keystrokes.

X-Mouse Button Control is powerful and versatile but it can be a little intimidating to use at first. There are lots of customisation options and only a limited amount of guidance. However the many menus are actually quite self-explanatory and once you've played around with it a few times you'll see that it's quite simple at heart although it provides a lot of options. Getting your mouse set up exactly as you want it might take a little while but once you're done you'll be amazed at the amount of time you can save.

If you use your keyboard a lot and would love to be able to do more things with just mouse clicks X-Mouse Button Control is worth checking out. It's an indie project and looks like it but it's a very valuable tool.
