Studio 13.37 is a Puppy Linux derivative, a computer operating system designed for digital content creation. It is a portable multimedia creation operating system that runs entirely from the a USB drive or a CD disc.

Supports 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms

The Studio operating system can be purchased from its website as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image or a USB flash drive. It has been engineered to support both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.

It boots automatically in 5 seconds

The Live CD has been designed in such a way that it will start the live system with the default kernel in exactly five seconds from the moment the user boots the ISO image from the BIOS of a PC. For a list of boot options, do not hesitate to press the F2 key at the boot prompt.

It’s based on Slacko

Studio is based on Slacko, which means that it inherits some of its features, such as the initial welcome dialog that allows the user to change the video resolution, the locale and language, change the keyboard layout, timezone and video driver.

The graphical environment is simple and fast, powered by Openbox

The Openbox window manager is in charge of the graphical session inside Studio. It provides users with a simple, basic and very fast desktop environment comprised of a taskbar that allow you to interact with opened program, cycle between virtual workspaces, as well as to navigate the main menu and launch apps.

Comes pre-loaded with numerous multimedia oriented apps

Among the multimedia oriented apps included in Studio, we can mention the OpenShot video editor, Rosegarden audio, MIDI and score editor, Ardour digital audio workstation, TiMidity++ MIDI sequencer, MusE MIDI and audio sequencer, Qsynth FluidSynth interface, as well as VLC Media Player.

  • Updated kernel versions to 4.4.3-rt9.
  • Updated ALSA libraries, updated versions of Ardour, Non DAW, and MuSE. Added nano, xkill, and conky: inspirational music quotes right on the desktop!
