ONTOplayer is a real time video improvisation engine for use in live improvisatory contexts. It takes any file that is readable by Quicktime and manipulates it and mixes it through a series of effects, all of which are completely controllable in real time. It also supports a camera interface, which allows video coming in from a camera to be manipulated in real time as well. All parameters within the application can be controlled via a MIDI controller, and many of them are mapped onto keyboard keys for playing along to live music. If the music is being made on a program that can send a MIDI clock (such as Ableton Live), ONTOplayer can receive that information and use it to change parameters in tempo to the music.
