From the creator of the JXCirrus CalCount, JXCirrus Maths, JXCirrus Finance and JXCirrus Diary applications, we introduce the JXCirrus Project graphical software for Linux operating systems.

It is yet another cool tool that helps people with complicated lives to establish the bases of their projects and create a workable plan for all their tasks. With JXCirrus Project, project work is no longer hard to track!

Features at a glance

Key features include real-time monitoring of time spent, remaining time, and predicted completion date, support for ongoing or repeating tasks, ability to handle sophisticated dependencies between tasks, timesheet forms for tracking time and public holidays tracking.

In addition, the program allows users to record regular meetings or one-offs, to record a baseline across an entire project or a part of it, to save data to cloud services so it can be accessed from anywhere, as well as to split work hours between several project areas.

The premium version of the software allows you to use JavaScript macros to automate tasks, create your own plans for highlighted tasks overriding the automatic planning functionality, start another application as part of a task, extend the standard 9-month planning to several years, or create advanced queries for the data.

Getting started with JXCirrus Project

The cross-platform Qt GUI toolkit was used to design the JXCirrus Project's graphical user interface. This means that it is a multiplatform application supported on any operating system where the Qt packages are available, including Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.

To use it, download the pre-built binary package from the official website or via Softoware, save it on a location of your choice, extract the archive’s contents, enter the project’s folder and double-click on the run_JXCirrusProject.sh file. The application will ask you to input your name (optional) from the get-go.

  • Fixed an error where tasks that repeat each workday were not being marked as complete.
  • Fixed an error where the warning popups were popping up repeatedly for the same tasks.
  • Fixed an error where you cannot cut and paste multiple objects that have different specs (despite being derived from the same base spec).

What is new in version 1.0.01:

  • There was an error in the project file template that was causing the system to not be able to save it.
